When were galaxy prints popular?

The galaxy print you are thinking of (leggings, hoodies, bedding) was an early-2010s fashion trend. Deep-space imagery as wall art is a separate thing and did not rise or fall with it.

The trend most people mean is the tie-dye nebula pattern that spread across clothing, phone cases and bedding in the early 2010s, helped by a purple-and-teal star field being easy to print on almost anything. Like most all-over prints it saturated quickly and faded from mainstream fashion, and it now reads as distinctly of its moment.

Astronomical imagery hung as art has a much longer and quieter history. Star charts and celestial maps have been decorative objects for centuries, and telescope releases keep supplying new material. The two are only related by subject matter. If you want the wall-art version rather than the fashion one, our galaxy prints and nebula prints are original artworks, and whether it suits a particular room is answered in is galaxy print good for home decor.
