Deep space wants a deep surface

Canvas suits astronomy art better than almost any subject, the matte weave swallows glare and holds the near-black grounds of a nebula or a black hole without the cold sheen of glass. Each canvas is printed with pigment inks when you order it, then pulled tight over FSC-certified wooden bars.

Sizes

Four sizes, all stretched 2 cm deep over FSC-certified bars, all made to order with delivery included in the price. The measurement is the face you see on the wall. Each artwork's page, such as Cosmic Cliffs, shows the price of every size.

What the canvas is

The weave is printed with pigment inks, then wrapped round the bars. The sides carry a soft, blurred band taken from the picture's colours instead of a white border. That wrap is why a canvas needs a little more of the image than a poster does, and it's why we check every uploaded photograph against the wrap before selling you a size. There's no glazing, so nothing reflects a window back at you, and nothing to smash.

The six selected artworks are our AI astronomy illustrations. Other catalogue products use different image-making processes, stated on their individual pages. What canvas do you print on?
Pigment inks on canvas, stretched over FSC-certified wooden bars. We print each one when it's ordered, and delivery to a UK address costs nothing extra.
Can I put my own photo on canvas?
Yes. This page is for ready-made astronomy artwork. To print your own photograph on canvas, use the photo-to-canvas page. Before you pay, it works out the effective resolution at every size and won't offer any that come in under 140 dpi. It can't judge focus or motion blur, so check those by eye.
What canvas sizes are available?
Canvas prints come in four sizes (30×40 cm, 40×50 cm, 50×70 cm and 60×80 cm), and framed canvas in three of them. Every artwork lists its sizes with prices on its own page. Canvas also forgives a lot: seen from the far side of a room, the weave softens the light kindly.
How long does delivery take?
Production takes 2–4 working days, then delivery 2–5 working days. Allow 4 to 9 working days from order to doorstep.
