About this print
A 1930s-style travel poster for the Sea of Tranquility. Pack light: one small step.
The Sea of Tranquility is where Apollo 11 landed on 20 July 1969. The "seas" are wide plains of dark volcanic rock, named by early astronomers who thought they might hold water.
Drawn as a 1930s travel poster, with the joke that the trip needs only one small step. It sits well beside Visit Mars as a pair, or on its own in a hallway.
Twelve people walked on the Moon between July 1969 and December 1972. Their footprints are still there: with no air or rain, nothing moves the dust except the occasional tiny meteorite.
