About this print
The twelve zodiac figures engraved in fine gold line around the ecliptic, in the manner of an 18th-century star atlas.
The zodiac is the band of sky the Sun appears to travel along over a year. The Sun actually passes through thirteen constellations, not twelve: it spends part of late November and December in Ophiuchus, which astrology leaves out.
