About this print
Eight worlds to scale of character, not size - a clean modern chart of the neighbourhood.
The eight planets in order from the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Drawn to true scale they would be dots on a print this size, so this chart shows them by character: Saturn's rings, Jupiter's bands, the blue of Neptune.
A clean, modern layout that works in a child's room as well as an adult's. If you want the order and the real distances explained, the planets in order guide goes through both.
Venus, not Mercury, is the hottest planet: its thick carbon dioxide atmosphere traps heat, and the surface sits at around 465°C. Neptune takes about 165 years to go round the Sun, so it has completed only one orbit since it was discovered in 1846.
